“Al Shaymaa J. Kwegyir, a Tanzanian member of parliament describes: “Albinism is a disability just like any other form of disability” But in Tanzania, it’s a condition where many sufferers are forced into hiding for fear of their lives.”

Africa is by far the worst place for a majority of people that have albinism, as many African countries mistreat albinos because of the crazy superstitions that they believe it is linked to many forms of witchcraft.

There are no figures on the numbers of albinos in Tanzania but albinism is more common in Africa than anywhere else in the world.  Around 1 in 20,000 people worldwide have albinism, a genetic disorder which results in significant reduction or absence of pigmentation in the skin, eyes, and hair.

Within our personal opinion, we actual believe that though these certain people may have been born with certain physical or mental disability or gain them towards accidents or trauma;  We should not treat them differently and exile them from society. A disabled person is still a person; so why should we further discriminate and traumatize them any further? haven’t they already suffered enough?
